The summer after my freshman year at Swarthmore College, I landed an opportunity to work as part of the Chester Community Fellowship (CCF). CCF entails working with a worksite, and my assigned worksite was the Chester Children’s Chorus. I was able to engage with this community through subjects I was passionate about: science and dance. Through Swarthmore, I work within the Science For Kids program, which was developed in light of children's lack of science resources and education at underfunded schools. I am also involved with the educational research based on alternative methods to assess disadvantaged children. As a part of the Chester Children’s Chorus, there are additional enrichment extracurriculars they partake in, such as dance, which I am a teacher's assistant for. On a weekly basis, I meet with the Chester Community Fellows cohort to work on a project for the Chester Education Foundation and interact with various figures from Chester to fully understand this community.
